Two men arrested in armed robbery

Police have arrested two men in the Tuesday armed robbery of three people in the parking lot of Pecans Unlimited at 1704 Central Avenue.

According to Richmond County jail records, 21-year-old Carl Anthony Thomas Jr., of the 2000 block of First Avenue, and 22-year-old Antonio Lebron Robinson, of the 2400 block of Reese Avenue, were arrested and charged with armed robbery, criminal attempt armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a sawed-off shotgun.

A Richmond County sheriff’s report states that the robbery occurred at about 6:30 p.m. Two robbers approached a man and two women at gunpoint as they were exiting the business. The suspects are accused of taking the man’s wallet and the purse of one of the women. The suspects also patted down one of the women but did not take anything from her, the report states.

For the record Thursday, February 28, 2008 Carl Anthony Thomas , 19, of the 1800 block of Fayetteville Drive, misdemeanor counts of obstruction or hindrance of a law enforcement officer, public indecency and two misdemeanor counts of simple battery; 36 months' probation and ordered to submit to random drug screens and comply with a curfew of 8 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends
