At about 8:54, a man came to the checkout counter at the fabric store and demanded cash from the register, according to a Richmond County Sheriffs report. He didnt show a gun but the victims said he had his hand in his pocket as if he was carrying a weapon.
The clerk wasnt able to open the register and had to call for help twice. After the manager tried and failed to get it open, the bandit then hit her in the head with a picture frame and fled from the store. About 17 minutes later, a man fitting the description of the bandit at the fabric store entered the Pizza Hut on Georgetown Drive and ordered chicken wings.
As the clerk was taking the order, the man demanded money and had his hand in his pocket as if he was carrying a gun, a sheriffs report said. The bandit stole an undisclosed amount of money from the register and safe then fled the scene.
Sheriffs Sgt. Calvin Chew said a white, four-door car was seen leaving both locations. Witnesses at the Pizza Hut robbery said the vehicle had a dent in the driver side door. The bandit is described as being a black man, about six-feet, two inches tall and about 175 pounds. He has a light beard and mustache.
