No charges in traffic accident that killed noted gardener

Chatrice Evans will not be charged in the death of Bill Adams, said North Augusta Public Safety’s Lt. Tim Pearson.

“There was no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing on the part of Ms. Evans,” he said today.

Mr. Adams, 72, a noted master gardener in the Augusta area, died Nov. 8 after being struck by a vehicle driven by Ms. Evans on Seymour Drive.

Lt. Pearson said two contributing factors were that Mr. Adams was in the roadway at the time of the incident and sunlight glare made it difficult for Ms. Evans to see.

Though residents have complained to public safety about speeding in the area in the past, it was not a factor in this case, Lt. Pearson said.

WHAT? She left the scene of a fatal accident !! In NA, If her brake light was burned out she would have been paying a fine.....kill someone, nada....... There should be a call for some resignations immediately.

Even if Chatrice was speeding, she was on the road. This was an accident. Leaving the scene is pretty bizarre though.

Oh, all the other articles said he was in his yard. When did that change?
