McCormick County deputy shot

A McCormick County sheriff’s deputy was sent to a hospital after a shooting early this morning.

According to a news release from the McCormick County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to a home to speak with residents about 4:30 a.m. Shortly after the deputies arrived, shots were fired. The shooter was arrested after a standoff with officers. The shooter is being held in the McCormick County Detention Center, according to the news release.

The deputy was taken to a hospital for treatment and was in “stable condition,” according to the news release.

The sheriff’s office would not identify the wounded deputy or the alleged shooter, nor would it say what hospital the wounded deputy was taken to.

And nobody took this fool out! It's not like he will get the punishement he deserves in jail! I'm glad the officer is alive and hope for a speedy recovery.

Way back in the early 70's I spent some time with these folks and it was multi murder at Scott's Ferry. Well they were very good to all of us. They could have jailed us all. Well after serveral hours we were fed and sent on our way. A while later I was able to get my firearm back. Remember this was the very early 70's. A ole Hippy in SC
