A man was arrested after a security officer spotted him urinating in a parking lot at the Augusta Mall Saturday night.
According to Richmond County jail records, Michael A. Myers Jr., 26, was arrested and charged with public indecency, obstructing or hindering a law enforcement officer and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law enforcement officer.
A Richmond County sheriffs report says that about 10:20 p.m. a mall security officer saw Mr. Myers urinating in the parking lot. When deputies attempted to arrest Mr. Myers, he broke free and officers had to chase him from the upper level food court parking lot to the far side of the Sears Auto Center parking lot. After he was taken into custody, Mr. Myers gave officers a false name and birth date, the report said.
Officers later learned that Mr. Myers has an outstanding arrest warrant from the Rockville Police Department in Maryland. According to a Rockville police dispatcher, Mr. Myers is wanted for failure to appear on a charge of second degree assault.
