No. 10 Augusta State wins season opener

Daniel Dixon posted a double-double as Augusta State pulled away for a 79-57 win over West Georgia in its season opener today at Christenberry Fieldhouse.

Dixon posted 10 points and 11 boards to help give coach Dip Metress his 250th career win. Fred Brathwaite posted a game-high 19 points for the 10th-ranked Jaguars. Alex Smith added 18 points, while Ben Madgen had 17.
