Safes stolen from downtown restaurant

A man broke into the Pizza Joint restaurant at 1245 Broad Street early Wednesday morning and stole two safes from an office.

A Richmond County sheriff’s report states that at about 4:10 a.m., video surveillance footage showed a man using a crow bar to pry open the front door of the restaurant.

The man entered the restaurant’s office and stole two white key lock safes. The safes themselves are valued at $200 each and they contained about $1,250 in cash.

The burglar is described as a black male, between six feet and six feet three inches tall, weighing between 170 and 200 pounds, and wearing a blue and white jacket and black pants. His face was covered with a white cloth.

His face was covered with a white cloth--How do they know he was a black male? He may just have been a down and out member of the KKK??????!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like an inside job. Obviously he knew where the safes were!

Everybody knows you're supposed to ORDER pizza and rob the delivery person. Nobody does take-out anymore. This poor soul probably uses a belt to help hold up his pants.

I was thinking the same thing CarlA..

at least he didn't take any pizzas.

Mirror man, common sense would dictate that any exposed limbs would reveal his skin color even if his head was covered. This does sound like an inside job.
