Augusta authorities investigating three shootings last night

Augusta authorties are investigating three shootings that occurred in two separate incidents last night.

One man was shot while standing on his front porch in the Harrisburg neighborhood Monday night.

Investigators from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office expect Kenneth Robert Kandt, 21, to recover from a gunshot wound to his stomach, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Calvin Chew.

The victim told police that he heard gunshots and went onto his front porch of his home on Hicks Street to see what was happening. Someone dressed in black clothing came from around a nearby corner and shot him, a sheriff’s report said.

Authorities are also investigating two other shootings that occurred outside Club 360 on Barton Chapel Road at about 11 p.m. Two men, Larry Antwan Sanders, 22, and Keith Polite, 20, were shot in his hips and abdomen, respectively. The men said they went to the club to pick someone up and got into an argument with a man they didn’t know, a sheriff’s report said. The man fired at their car and the two victims ran away from the scene. They told police they didn’t realize they had been shot until they saw blood on one another.
