JONESBORO, Ga. - Clayton County police say a woman who told police her daughter had been abducted, leading to an Amber Alert, has been charged with making a false report.

Police Department spokesman Kevin Hughes says 28-year-old Cara Williams has been arrested.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued the alert Wednesday morning after Williams told police her 1-year-old daughter had been abducted by the child's father.

The alert said the man was possibly armed and dangerous.

Hughes says that after further investigation, officials determined that the father has custody of the child and that the two are living in Maryland.
