Authorities have released the name of the man shot Wednesday night outside an Augusta apartment complex.

Darren Reeves, 21, told Richmond County Sheriff’s deputies he was walking in the River Glen Apartments at 201 E. Telfair St. when a man approached and shot him once in the right thigh, according to Sgt. Calvin Chew. Mr. Reeves’s wounds were not life threatening and he was treated and released, Sgt. Chew said. The shooter was described as a black male about six feet tall, wearing all black clothing and armed with a black handgun.
