Maybe Lt. Rountree sent the letter in himself so he would have somthing to investigate.
A letter found last month by Richmond County school public safety officers contained harsh criticism about a Davidson Fine Arts teacher but no criminal threat, an official said this morning.
Public Safety Lt. Richard Roundtree said an officer in his department discovered the letter, which included harsh language. It did not, however, threaten the life of a teacher, as some rumors have said.
Lt. Rountree said his department conducted an investigation and closed it after deeming it didnt rise to the level of a criminal complaint.
The information was forwarded to the superintendent's office last week to be handled administratively, he said.
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says it is not involved in the case.
Maybe Lt. Rountree sent the letter in himself so he would have somthing to investigate.
All I can say, is that they better keep a watch for the letter's writer. This was a tell tell sign that something is seriously wrong! Let something happen to the teacher and see who catches **** for it..
I agree Urban Hater, we all remember that Richard is good for writing things and signing other people's name to it.
Two haters.Not bad.
I believe when this officer left the sheriffs department we lost a valuable deterent to crime. Sure he made a mistake, but all the cases he solved in record time speaks well for his talent as a cop.
I'm not taking sides either way until we find out more about the "letter" and how it was "found." Was this simply the student's private opinion saying a teacher was dumb, mean or something meant to only be seen by another student? I guess that's up to the administrative board to decide.
The letter should be handled at the School level until they find out who wrote it and then let the Principal decide if it needs to go further. He should be reprimanded for such a thing. It is called respect for your Teacher. If you want to say it to someone then do, but Gee whiz don't write it for evidence.
I know a lot of DUMB people who work for the RCBOE, but you want see me write it down and leave it laying around. Some Dummy at the best school in town, just goes to show - we have kids at the Davidson Fine Arts School that can show out and act stupid. Oh well, no one is perfect. Thank the Lord.
Great article. No law broken so no charges filed. News at 11.
I attended Davidson for seven years, and I wish many could go back and see the way it was. I'm glad that I graduated before DFA took a turn for the worst. It deeply saddens me when DFA is supposed to be the top school in the state of Georgia, yet students act this way.
Well that goes to show you that you can't put all of your eggs in one basket. Instead of focusing on one or maybe two schools in RC...your wonderful Super and his clones should focus on all of the other schools and the wonderful things going on with the less priveledged childen. Just look at the article...there was no mention of the school involved...and Richard Rountree...give me a break...seems like a smooth over to me. I am sure it is more to this story than meets ther eye... You Go RCSS...another fine mess you have gotten yourselves in!
