Six Paine College students were arrested Sunday night after deputies found them inside Tubman Middle School.
Lt. Scott Peebles, of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, said it did not appear that they were trying to steal or break anything inside the school and were just “acting stupid” by walking around the empty building.
“I don’t think there was any attempt to steal anything,” Lt. Peebles said.
Two deputies came to the school after an alarm was tripped shortly after 10 p.m. They found an open door on the east side of the building, and the students were on the third floor, a sheriff’s report said. One of the suspects tried to run from the deputies and was chased to the entrance of Paine College, where he was taken into custody.
Those arrested on criminal trespass charges include: Coleene Kristen Jackman, 18; Rachel Marie Woods, 18; David Lee Howell, 18; Charles Jolaron Rhome, 18; and Donald Anetia Beasley, 19. Richard James Stephens Jr., 18, is charged with both criminal trespass and obstruction of an officer for attempting to run from deputies.
All six live in the 1200 block of 15th Street, the report said.

I guess they couldn't get away with, "My cousin owns this building; I have permission to be here", like the lying trespassers in our neighborhood. It didn't matter the owner had given me his new number to give to the police to contact him in the case of trespassers, they believed the lying teenage trespassers over the homeowner across the street. I asked the police if they called the number and they said, no. Why not??

yes it is a big deal, it is not alright for ANYONE to trespass on other people's property. would it be no har no foul or give them a break if their butts were sittin in your home while you were out? i don't think so...children, no PEOPLE need to be more responsible and respectful and expect all others to be responsible and respectful!

Just because they are college students doesnt mean crap...they broke the law, and illegally entered property that did not belong to them.
