justus4 and jackfruitcake finally lost their jobs, huh?
Two black male educators have jointly sued the Richmond County Board of Education alleging their job assignments have been based on unconstitutional racial grounds instead of skill and experience.
Hartley Gibbons Jr. and Rickey A. Lumpkin filed suit in U.S. District Court on Oct. 19 seeking compensatory and punitive damages. The defendants have 20 days to respond to the lawsuit, which represents only one side of the dispute.
According to the lawsuit against the board and the former interim superintendent James F. Thompson, the trouble began at a May 10, 2007, school board meeting when members voted to demote Mr. Gibbons and Mr. Lumpkin.
Mr. Gibbons, according to the lawsuit, has 15 years experience and was the principal of Glenn Hills Middle School until May 2007. Mr. Lumpkin, with 12 years experience, was principal of Tubman Middle School until May 2007. The lawsuit alleges that they were given no reason for their transfers to assistant principal positions at Butler High School and Cross Creek High School, respectively.

I thought going from middle school to high school was a promotion. It was when I was in school.
All that time in college and they are still two black male educator dumbasses. I think it's called "and other duties as assigned".
The guy at Tubman was not doing his job. The new principal turned the place around a lot, very quickly.
The saddest thought is the ignorance and blatant racism permeating the CSRA's citizens though comments on this website. As a former Educator, I have had the privilege of working with these two gentleman. They are consummate individuals in the field of education who were not given any support from the previous superintendent and board. I watched these gentlemen try to implement cutting edge strategies that had been proven successful in similar school districts throughout the country, only to have the rug pulled out from under them. To spew ignorance, as is evident by these posts, these bloggers would do well to become as literate and knowledgeable as these two beleaguered individuals; who had accomplished careers before entering the field of education. Their motives were to educate those who have been denied genuine advocates in Richmond County at the school (front line)level.
It's pretty simple if you ask me, both of those schools were failing so the principals were assigned elsewhere to give fresh blood an opportunity to do what they couldn't. If this were any other industry or corporation, they would have been released from duty altogether. "It is Time", your statement is serious B.S. Lots of Principals can point to cutting edge strategies, methodology or whatever else. They were hired to do the job with the skills and resources they had. They didn't perform at an acceptable level and should be grateful to still have jobs.
amen they should be thankful to still have a job. if not than move somewhere else and let a grateful human being have a job.
the law clearly states that these two cannot be demoted , moved, reassigned,or reprimanded for any reason... they are black and cannot be wrong..... it is time to not reward failure.... if you suck you should get fired... i think all of us would why does this not hold true in education?
a prime example why we should have a loser pays law. I wonder if our taxes are paying for legal representation for these two race card holders?
