COLUMBIA — The wife of South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson is recovering from swine flu.

A spokesman for Mr. Wilson said Friday that Roxanne Wilson is doing much better after being diagnosed with the H1N1 virus earlier in the week. Ryan Murphy said she was not hospitalized.

Mr. Wilson has said he's willing to get the swine flu vaccine but wants Americans who are more susceptible to get it first.

The Republican whose 2nd District includes parts of Aiken County is scheduled to appear in Aiken Saturday. He will speak at 9 a.m. at Oakwood-Windsor Elementary School, 3773 Charleston Highway.

He visited Aiken last month for a rally to raise funds for his re-election.

Mr. Wilson will discuss health care and other issues during the town hall meeting.

The congressman gained national attention when he heckled President Barack Obama last month by shouting "You lie!" during a speech on heath care before a joint session of Congress. The outburst came after Mr. Obama said illegal immigrants would not be covered under a health care overhaul.

Does anyone know whether Mr. Wilson and his family are taking advantage of the health insurance program and health care offered through Congress? I know that Senator Graham is because he stated so and showed his Blue Cross Blue Shield card for the coverage subsidized by the federal government through our tax dollars.

A better question is why is this breaking news?? Must be a slow night in the CSRA.

My thoughts exactly. Who care's if his wife got the swine flu, a lot of people have it, they aren't making the *news* because of it.
Typical..

She probably got it from that swine, Joe.

It is news to the far right becase Joe is now a hero of the AC and the far righties. They have made Liz Cheney and Todd Palin into celebrities.

That explains it all. Now watch those hypocrites that all but literally danced on Kennedy grave, ask for compassion and sensitivity.

This is not a positive development for ol' Joe and should be taken with grain of salt. With the kinda info being carried at some places, one can only imagine why he has not made a statement. This guy has demonstarted his association with the Truth.

Take Tamiflu, take an antibiotic. This is about as newsworthy as hearing another celebrity talking about their "diets" (think crack and meth), What's next, Obama's dog getting fleas?
