JACKSON, Ga. -- The U.S. Supreme Court announced this evening it will not block the execution of an Augusta man on Death Row, ending his last legal hope for mercy.
Mark McClain -- scheduled for execution at 7 p.m. for a 1994 Augusta murder -- does not plan to make any final statements, prison officials said earlier this evening.
Kristen Stancil, a spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections, said Mr. McClain declined to issue any final statements and will not have any family members present tonight when he is scheduled to die by lethal injection for the fatal shooting of an Augusta pizza store manager 15 years ago.
Mr. McClain did talk to some family members earlier in the day, she said.
Christian country, eh?
He had his day on court. From all of his appeals, he had more than one day in court. He's not getting a stay of execution. Just go ahead and do it.
Justus4, yes we are a Christian country, read Genesis 9 : 6. God gives the authority to man.
Woot.. Woot.. To death with ya..
Shame it has to be such a painless way.. Bring back the chair! Then maybe these criminals will think before they take an innocent life. Notice the difference there justus, innocent vs guilty.
And who said USA was a christian country? It also belongs to jews, muslim's, etc..
Amen FAIR TAX!!! An eye for an eye.
Time to go. Appeals are just ways for lawyers to make money.
Time to pay your overdue bill!
That's good news! He deserves it for what he's done!
may god have mercy on your soul.
He has no remmorse for what he has done. He deserves what is coming to him. Too bad that he will die a painless death.
May God have mercy on both their families.
May God bless the family who has had to deal with the pain of losing a loved one due to a heartless man. I am only praying for the family of the victim and not for the scum who took an innocent life. I hope you like warm weather cause that is where you are headed...about time that you paid your bill bud!! We, the taxpayers, have shelled out enough $$$ taking care of your sorry butt in prison!!
an eye for an eye makes us all blind.
nah nah nah nah........hey hey hey.........GOOD BYE!!!!!
If these people knew before they behaved like animals and heathens that they would be executed in the most painless way possible, then just maybe perhaps some will not act in such a fashion. Sadam Hussein; captured, tried, appeals process, hanged until dead inside if 3 years. But no, we have to house these "people" for 10, 20, 30 years before they are executed...probably to justify government jobs, but that's for another discussion. Why? No more than 5 years from time of arrest should the process take. God rest his soul and may he have a last minute change of heart, and God bless the families of all involved.
good bye, you low life POS!
been there--it keeps the gene pool a little cleaner tho!!
