UGA student robbed at gunpoint by cab driver

ATHENS, Ga. – Police in Athens say a University of Georgia student was robbed at gunpoint by a cab driver who picked him up.

Police say the student was robbed around 2:15 a.m. this morning when he was picked up by a cab in downtown Athens.

Investigators say the driver pulled the cab over, hit the student in the face, pulled him out of the cab and robbed him of $70. Investigators say the student was intoxicated at the time.

A friend later came to pick the student up.

I'd like to hear the driver's

I'd like to hear the driver's story. As Humbleopinion implied, I doubt a drunk would give an accurate account.

from the stories coming from uga students; the students who throw up in the cabs are charged 100 dollars and if the students don't pay the police are usually called.
