Friday night football: Tonight features big games

With less than a month remaining in high school football’s regular season, time is running out for some teams to make a push for the playoffs.

Here’s a look at tonight’s big games:

Lincoln County at Washington-Wilkes: Arguably the area’s top rivalry game, the two schools began playing each other in 1922. Lincoln County leads the series 33-32-6, but Larry Campbell’s team knows a trip to Tiger Field is always tough.

Glenn Hills at Richmond Academy: The host Musketeers have struggled against top-flight competition this year. The visiting Spartans need a win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive in the Georgia Region 3-AAAA showdown.

Airport at South Aiken: This is a battle between two unbeaten South Carolina Region 5-AAA teams, but the visiting Eagles sport a high-powered offensive attack. South Aiken puts a three-game winning streak on the line.
