Group to move forward

ST. LOUIS - Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh has been dropped from a group seeking to buy the St. Louis Rams.

Limbaugh was to be a limited partner in a bid led by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts, but Checketts said in a statement today that Limbaugh's participation had complicated the effort. The group will move forward without him.

Checketts said he will have no further comment on the bid process. Limbaugh did not immediately respond to an e-mail sent late Wednesday seeking comment on Checketts' decision.

Limbaugh said on his radio show earlier Wednesday that he had been inundated with e-mails from listeners who supported him in the bid.

"This is not about the NFL, it's not about the St. Louis Rams, it's not about me," Limbaugh said. "This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democrat Party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative.

"Therefore, this is about the future of the United States of America and what kind of country we're going to have."

Limbaugh's bid ran into opposition from within the image-conscious NFL on Tuesday when Colts owner Jim Irsay said he would vote against the radio personality. Commissioner Roger Goodell said the commentator's "divisive" comments would not be tolerated from any NFL insider.

The Rams had no comment, reissuing a statement from Oct. 5 in which owner Chip Rosenbloom said a review of the team's ownership was under way and the club will make an announcement when it's over.

Fruitcake, I see you don't like the truth either. At over 100 million a year do you really think Limbaugh cares what anyone thinks of him. He exposes Leftist for what they are and that aggravates you bleeding heart liberals and that's a wonderful, wonderful thing!!!

Limbaugh is a good man and a great statesman... unlike most of the players in the NFL who appear to be nothing more than a bunch of tatooed thugs. Who gives a flying flip about the NFL when we must save our country from the morons on the left.

ESPN need to dump Stephen A. Smith who is nothing more than a Limbaugh lackey. Smith is a blowhard with an inflated opinion of himself just like Limbaugh.

Limbaugh was victimized by

Limbaugh was victimized by the likes of Al Sharpton, Sheila Jackson Lee, and Jesse Jackson. They repeated and spread lies to propagate their liberal/socialist/progressive/Democrat agenda. This is all very familiar: During the reign of the old Soviet Union, the same rules existed to forward the communist agenda - lies, deception, control of the media, control of the people from cradle to grave. Our Founders were correct in foreseeing the possible demise of the beautiful country they created: once the uneducated, lazy, thoughtless sheep learned that they could vote themselves out of paying taxes, shifting the entire burden to the more educated, hard-working, God-fearing patriots, then the country would be doomed. There may be no room left for intelligent people in this country. If the likes of a Sharpton, Lee, or Jackson can spew forth blatant lies about a true Patriot like Limbaugh - and not be held accountable - even cheered on by the uneducated - then there truly is no hope left in the world for anyone who cherishes liberty over tyranny.

BOYCOTT the NFL! So, they are worried about the image of the NFL? Since when? This smacks of a double standard. I will not watch a game on TV, buy any NFL items, or go to another NFL game until they rid the league of thugs. Maybe it's time the FANS control the NFL. I'm done with them.

Well stated standup. Your

Well stated standup. Your comments remind me of this... After the Constitutional Convention had finished its work in 1787, a woman asked Ben Franklin what kind of government had been decided upon. He replied: "A republic, if you can keep it." Mr. Franklin knew then that it would be impossible to keep because of the liberal socialists loosers.

Rush's audience grows daily as a great voice of freedom. He isn't perfect but a great example in most areas. If conservatives shut up, some day they won't be allowed to speak.

Limbaugh is so full of it.

Limbaugh is so full of it. It has nothing to do with the "left." If Ed Schultz or Al Franken wanted to be owners of NFL teams the NFL would not want them either. Many of the NFL owners are old, white, rich business men. They want nothing to do with anyone that draws any such political attention, regardless of party.

Rush is nobody. With each passing day he runs out of material. IT must be frustrating days for the GOP! Somebody give Rush a medal , put a star on his fat head and give him an "A" for effort.

Down 10,000. S&P 1092. My 401K higher than a month BEFORE the economic system collapse in the hands of the previous GOP president. Thanks Presidemt Obama!

Yeah, the left went out and

Yeah, the left went out and purchased the drugs for him. The left then got him hooked on those same drugs. The left force him to surf for various Doctors to give him these same drugs. Now the left can do all of that but still allow OXY to broadcast his filth every day? Dang we on the left have more power than I thought. REALSTUPIDGUY, I guess you are giving Sharpton, Lee, Jackson, who I noticed to all Blacks, a lot of juice that IMHO, they do not have. I do not know how many minority owners there are but I doubt that they would have the power to deny anyone anything.

I don't understand why

I don't understand why conservatives are upset the free market worked. The owners and the NFL can choose who they sell to just like anyone else. They chose not to deal with a group including Limbaugh. They don't think he would be good for business plain and simple. If they thought Limbaugh would bring more money into the revenue sharing they would have embraced him. Capitalism at work.

This is good news! It demonstrates that the country can have an individual who gets paid millions to spread racial hatred, but would not want this guy around sports. What about the children and his name being associated with a sports team? The NFL did the right thing and policed itself, but watch out for him going"legal" 'cause he thinks money can buy anything. And watch his racist comments get worse and possibly the "N" word being used on his program. It will be disguised as a caller who uses it, but "we" know its coming. Again, good news for society and this guy will eventually self destruct.

I noticed the chronicle removed "Without Limbaugh" from the title of this story. I guess they're ashamed that their conservative heartthrob doesn't have enough capital to pony up for the worst franchise in the NFL.

Just two amendments left to

Just two amendments left to destroy. It is easier to destroy the first with actions like what is being done to Rush than to try passing the fairness act. It is easier to kill the second by just making ammo unavailable to be bought then passing a gun control bill.
