Course to teach safe boating

A four-part boating safety class taught by the Thurmond Lake Sail & Power Squadron will be offered Nov. 3, 6, 10 and 13 at McCormick County Library in McCormick, S.C.

The class is a comprehensive course that covers all aspects of boating, including handling, docking, right of way, anchoring, aids to navigation, required equipment and state laws. The hours are from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Nov, 3, 6 and 13; and noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 10.

The cost, which includes books and materials, is $25 per person or $30 per couple.
