Robbers took $2,500, men say

Two Augusta men told police they were robbed at gunpoint in the 2900 block of Crosscreek Road in Hephzibah on Saturday.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, at about 6:20 p.m. a man and his friend went to meet a man to see about purchasing a vehicle. When the two men arrived, they were approached by a man claiming to be the seller of the vehicle and another man. The man claiming to be the seller pulled out a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded money. A third man then appeared from behind a nearby residence. The two men said $2,500 was stolen from them.

The armed man was described as black, about 22 years old, about 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 175 pounds.

The second man was described as black, about 22 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 170 pounds.

The third man was described as black, about 22 years old, about 6 feet tall, weighing about 170 pounds.
