Two die in townhouse fire

ATLANTA — Authorities say a fire trapped three girls in a suburban Atlanta townhouse, killing two of them and leaving another in critical condition.

Gwinnett County authorities say the fire broke out Friday evening at a townhome in Duluth, trapping the three girls.

County fire and emergency spokesman Tommy Rutledge said in a news release today that the girls, ages 12 to 19, were believed to be sisters. Rutledge says the mother reportedly escaped unharmed by jumping from the back deck.

Rutledge says two of the girls were pronounced dead at Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth, and the third was being treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

They were not immediately identified. The cause of the fire was being investigated.

The only way I wouldn't try

The only way I wouldn't try to save my family is if there were nothing left of the residence to go into. Escaping without them wouldn't even enter my mind.

I would have to have an amputation, and then I'd crawl, to get to my child. Nothing could make me leave.

I feel very sorry for the

I feel very sorry for the family of these children. However leaving a burning building with my children still inside would NEVER be an option. NEVER. If my children died in this fire it would be with me in the process of dragging them out and you would find me dead along side of them. As a matter of fact I would die myself to save my children. I would easily put their safety before mine in a case like this. Rudy, I agree 100% with you. My animals are treated better than the fate that was bestowed these poor children.

Corgi, you have to be with

Corgi, you have to be with them to not leave them. If you don't supervise your children you are not there when something like this happens.

If she would do a dumb a@@

If she would do a dumb a@@ thing like that, she probably set the place on fire to collect on insurance. BO is teaching these people how to survive, do nothing, let the government take care of them, and win a Nobel Peace Prize at all costs to anyone else. She escapes unscathed and her children die and some burned.......something is wrong with this picture. Maybe BO will award her with a medal for bravery and valor. Anyone that is a real parent would die for their child. What a [filtered word]
