Augusta's Laura Coble lost in the championship match of the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur today in Ocala, Fla.
Martha Leach of Hebron, Ky., defeated Coble 3 and 2 at Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club.
The two were all square through nine holes, but Leach pulled away on the final nine and birdied the par-5 16th to close out her former University of Georgia teammate.
