Tourism project to be unveiled in Aiken County

AIKEN – The state parks and recreation department will unveil a regional tourism project to Aiken County residents Thursday.

The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism will present plans for the Tourism Product Development Plan, which includes Aiken, Barnwell, Allendale, Edgefield, Laurens, Bamberg, Abbeville and McCormick counties, at 2 p.m. at the Aiken City Hall on Park Avenue, according to a news release. The project will also be unveiled in Greenwood at the Arts and Visitors Center on Main Street.

The hour-long presentation will lay out the department’s recommendations for expansion and development of tourism throughout the area.
