A sheriffs report says the damage occurred about 4 p.m. while the patrol car was parked at Beulah Grove Baptist Church, 1434 Poplar St. Two deputies were on foot patrol in the area of the Cherry Tree Crossing housing project, the report says, and returned to find the front passenger side window of the car broken out. Further investigation revealed that someone had struck the cars door frame with a blunt object, breaking the glass.
Nothing was missing from the vehicle, the report says.
