An Augusta man was arrested Friday and charged with burglarizing Peach Orchard Drugs twice in one week.

According to Richmond County sheriff’s reports and jail records, Justin Scott McGowen, 22, of the 900 block of Horseshoe Road, was charged with two counts of burglary.

An incident report says that a man broke into the pharmacy at 2529 Peach Orchard Rod about 8 a.m. Sept. 23 by cutting a hole in the roof. Security camera footage showed the burglar going behind the store counter and going through the aisles where prescription drugs are stored. An alarm was activated when the burglar left through the front door.

The man broke into the pharmacy again about 6 a.m. Sept. 25, a report says. A security camera showed the burglar removing a vent on the roof. The man went through all the prepared bags of medicine behind the store counter, then placed a stool on the counter and left by climbing out through the open vent, the incident report said.

What if …..what if I get

What if …..what if I get caught? Do you kids ever ask yourself that? Is that big screen TV, Xbox, etc., really worth losing 3, 5, 10 perhaps 20 years to spend in a tiny jail cell? Or breaking into a vehicle for a cell phone or GPS? And having it going on your record, it is hard enough to get a job with a clean record let alone one with marks on it. I personally cannot see myself behind bars for any length of time, therefore; I will NOT commit a crime. Think of the pain/money your parents will have to bare. Ask yourself if you can see yourself behind bars? It just may happen, you may NOT be as invincible as you think.

MyOpinion: Great comment for

MyOpinion: Great comment for the bulletin boards. But unless you are willing to take these comments to the streets where the kids are, these comments are just going to fall on deaf ears.

This is the same drug store

This is the same drug store where the former owner went to prison for over 4 years for stealing from the taxpayers. Maybe this guy was just trying to get some of his money back...........

That means people want things now at any cost because?????? well just because. By the way for those who care, who wants to bet that the drug of choice that got this idiot started on his drug career was--- taa Daa ---- Marijuana? No problems with a little grass for recreation is there?

I don't bet it. Most pill

I don't bet it. Most pill heads I know have never done an illegal drug, they get hooked on the pills from the doc, go doc shopping, buy them off the street and rob pharmacies or rob other places to get money to buy the pills off the street. Most work places test for illegal drugs, not scripts. I seen people who get a couple hundred pills a month and they aren't even in pain, they get them to sell or to catch a buzz. It's sickening. You would be suprised at the jobs many of these pill heads hold. They drink and do pills. 2 legal dangerous addictions. Drinking is usually where it starts if you want to go that route and its easier to detect when at work so they pill it up!
