He will pay the price by becoming somebody's whore in prison.

Child molesting is so out of hand, why can the laws not be changed to fit the awfulness of the action. A hand for a hand and eye for eye. So, if a man takes away a child's virginity then perhaps he should be castrated, both will cause great problems for the victim and the BAD MAN would suffer for life as well while wasting away in jail.

Lynna, you may think that sounds good, but you really wouldn't like having the law and punishments changed in that way. Granted, our current laws and punishment methods don't seem to be doing what they are intended to do, but reverting to simple retribution is not the wiser, more appropriate course of action. That said, I'm not convinced that a pedophile can be rehabilitated, and therefore should never be allowed around children. Under. Any. Circumstances. EVER.

I have two grand-daughters and two grand-sons. Let some [filtered word] put his or her hands on them unappropriately and they can call the coroner, wont be any need for an ambilance. I say this realizing that the rest of my days would be in prison, but I mean every word of it. Their PAPA.

One at a time is too slow to rid this earth of predators of children. We must come up with a better way... Protect your children, your relative's children, your neighborhood children... there are predators on the loose.

How about the death penality if convicted?

FlyersFan77

What kind of sickness is in the water these days? You can't get any lower than molesting children.

WhippingPost

Child molesting is no more prevalent today than in the past. There's just a lot more exposure and social outrage. Why do so many spouses cover the crime? Isn't that enabling? Is there any cure for this illness? Has anyone ever heard of one? I haven't. Why are these people ever allowed to return to society after being removed?

corgimom

Someone you know, someone you love, someone who is your friend, someone that you work with- they have either committed it or experienced it. It is far more wide-spread and common than people want to believe.

Fiat_Lux

I think you are completely wrong, WhippingPost. I believe that there are many more predators today than even 20 years ago. If you have actual figures for your position, I'd interested in getting a link. The spread of porn and its easy accessibility, along with the complete abandonment of most traditional standards for sexual behavior, have fueled this willingness by people of weak character to experiment with whatever fantasies enter their empty minds. People aren't being taught the same values and being required to restrain themselves anymore, probably mainly because mothers aren't home raising their own kids anymore.

WhippingPost

Fiat Lux, I think we agree to a certain extent. I feel it's much deeper than "values" which seems to be tied to social attitudes. I feel the active attack on personal responsibility that has taken place in our movies and schools and congress plays the major role that makes the current child abuse so easy to spot. However, have you read anything about the street children of Rio De Janeiro, or the children in Thailand sex trade? Many of the sub Saharan countries still feel sex with a prepubescence girl is the cure of AIDES and most of those societies teach that menstruation is the beginning of unrestricted sexual activity. In our society, the active move to irresponsible behavior that accompanies the "subsidized" subcultures and the resistance to address this horror seems to promote the child abuse that has become so "out of the closet" in today's news. There's very little social pressure in parts of our society against it. I expect to hear some new folk music addressing this trait in the same manner as wife beating, cop shooting, gang banging and church burning. It's all about being a man.

Break it down, "I got a baby with my 10 year old neighbor, I got a baby with my 12 year old sister, I got a baby wit' my ho that call me her man, I got them cuz I can, I can". All races that choose to trade personal responsibility for implied security, choose to endanger their own children and their childrens children.

DEVGRU

Pedophilia is a mental health issue. The suspect can never be trusted and can never be rehabilitated. The only thing left to do is to take them off the street.

Good. Now he can spend his time being someone's girlfriend in prison. Let's see how he likes being treated like an object.
