Teen punched by angry driver for allegedly passing too close

A teenager student was punched by an angry driver after he passed too closely to the suspect’s vehicle Tuesday evening.

The victim, 17, said he was traveling south on Rhonda Drive when his car passed closely to a man in a Chevrolet Silverado which was traveling northbound, a Richmond County Sheriff’s report said. The driver of the Silverado followed the victim to Young Forest Drive at Windsor Spring Road, the report said. The victim told deputies he pulled over to apologize and the man pulled open his door and began punching him in the face.

Come on, AC. The basics would have been nice--who, what, when, where, why, and how.

Heh heh. I know this guy was wrong but I must admit a certain admiration. Both for him and the security guard that took that smart mouthed little peehead down at the game the other night. To many teens have no respect for your, or their, lives and certainly no respect for authority or any adults. If you try to correct them they threaten, curse, laugh or intimidate. Apparently most of them have had little or no discipline by their parents and I certainly understand someone getting a craw full and deciding to teach them a little manners. Hope the guy pleads temporary insanity and gets a "pass".

I thought you were SUPPOSED to hit teenagers. It's part of the learning process for teens and it's also part of the adult vent system. What could be more natural? Slug a teen driver today, sleep better tonight.

pommom38

You guys at it again I see. What pathetic comments and a waste of space. The driver that did this, along with the *play cop* deserve to be in jail. Doesn't matter how bad mouthed kids are, how much respect they lack, gives no one the right to lay a hand on them. Poor max, you couldn't handle a punk throwing curse words at you?? You'd have to be *a man* and hit them? whatever.. You three sick wads are prolly wife beaters, or kid abusers.

FlyersFan77

I can't help it, I seriously doubt the teenager pulled over to apologize. He probably started running his mouth and the driver clocked him one.

lddist

I would love to see that video

corgimom

Sure, a teenager is going to pull over to apologize. He got more than he bargained for.

disssman

Did he PASS to closely or RUN him off the road trying to text? And did the man have his kids in the car? Lots of funny questions in this one.

ginah1288

Well my son would have apologized and he is 17. I would like anyone to take that action with my child and you would like to know the consequence behind it. All teens are not bad or not being raised properly. I bet the response would be different if it were your child someone hit, because they were angry.

humbleopinion

Yep, there's more to the story.

as for no description, its hard to tell what a person looks like after a three piece combo to the grape.

It's sad to witness what this world is coming to. Manners and human kindness as well as consideration for your fellow man are long gone. We were taught the golden rule in school, we were disciplined at school and at home and we learned to repect the rights of others. I do not have an opinion on this matter other than two wrongs don't make a right.

EARL84

While I absolutely do not condone the punching driver, I have a hard time believing that the teen pulled over to "apologize." A middle finger is more likely

DeborahElliott2

No plate number? No ID of the person? wow. Good thing I raised my kids at the age of 9 to identify a person by height, wt, color, hair, eyes, etc. Let some idiot attack them, or touch them, and you will be running for life. You should turn yourself in before they go hunting, or they will find you. They should be out looking for your butt right now pal!

TakeAstand

lol Earl, I would have to agree. This guy needs some anger management and jail time to think about a different way to handle his anger, even if someone may be "asking" for it. And parents should teach their young ones, if you are ever followed for any reason, especially girls, do not pull over nor drive anywhere but to the neareast police station. There are a lot of crazy people out there!

crackerjack

Sounds like a bunch of "my child can do no wrong" whiners. And no the guy shouldn't have hit the brat. He should have followed him and got his license number and filed a police report.

joekm46

About 95% of the youth in that neighborhood are wanna be thugs! I know from 45 years of experience first hand. The teen might have fell into the 5% who are not, but I would bet he's in the 95% range. The neighborhood has gone to the dogs!!

imdstuf

Max, the teen (teens are not the most experienced drivers) messed up and apologized. You think all kids are punks. Well I think all pickem up, chaw chewing hillbillies around here are inbread rednecks then. I guess we can all say stupid things huh?

TakeAstand

inbread? lol I'm going to leave that one alone!

youbetcha

Tell your kids and even yourself, NEVER pull over without police.
People are CRAZy!!
