Jenny Sanford to write memoir

  • Follow Latest News

NEW YORK -- The estranged wife of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is writing a memoir.

Ballantine Books, an imprint of Random House Inc., said Tuesday it will publish Jenny Sanford’s “inspirational memoir” in May 2010.

The publisher says Mrs. Sanford “will grapple with the universal issue of maintaining integrity and a sense of self during life’s difficult times.”

The book is currently untitled, and financial terms were not disclosed.

Mr. Sanford was once a rising star in the Republican Party. He acknowledged in June that he had a yearlong affair with an Argentine woman he called his "soul mate."

Mrs. Sanford moved out of the governor’s mansion in August, but she and her husband have said they’re trying to repair their marriage.

What woman after hearing her

What woman after hearing her husband say the other woman is his SOUL mate would want to live with that for the rest of her life, knowing she's not it? Marriages don't last long behind those kinds of words no matter what you try, the wound is to deep.

I totally agree. He would

I totally agree. He would quickly be in my past after saying that. How can you "want" to be that man? I would have told him to have her...cause I sure wouldn't want him! What a rediclous public embarrassment!

I feel for the lady but I'm

I feel for the lady but I'm not sure I care to hear her life story. Sounds like a "tell all" to further shame her ex-husband. I guess if someone fronts you the money - go for it!

I agree that it would be hard

I agree that it would be hard to stay with your husband after hearing what he said but I'm sure she's relying on God's Grace in this matter. According to Biblical instructions, if a husband and wife are both believers then divorce is not the route you take. Through the Grace of God and some heavy duty counselling I believe that this marriage could be saved it both are willing to put God first. God can return the passion in Mark's heart for his wife and he can also give Jenny a forgiving spirit. I'm not so sure a book of memoirs is the right step but maybe putting it down on paper will help her to start the forgiveness process.
