Graham: Public option is dead

WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina says it's clear to him that the White House is ready to abandon a government-run public health insurance option.

Graham, appearing today on Fox News Sunday, said that President Obama's address to Congress this past week was combative and showed little sign of compromise.

Graham says Obama was on the defensive -- especially on a public health insurance option that Graham says is off the table and has been for a while.

It would appear that no one

It would appear that no one has told Pelosi about abandoning the public option. If I remember my lessons in government, all laws originate in Congress. As the Speaker of the house, she weilds power most people would not even imagine. The last time I heard her mention healthcare she was adament that a publis option would be included. Given that Graham is a Republican Senator, I wonder who gave him such an insight to Democratic plans? I also wonder why he never brings things up unless he is on FOX news with no one to really question his opinions except nodding head CONServatives.

Grahams statement is almost

Grahams statement is almost like someone elses statement "Mission Accomplished" that was a little premature and misleading. Can the CONS ever get the message correct and make a decision without approval of their glorious leader ElRushBo?

Lindsey, I will tell you who

Lindsey, I will tell you who is dead. It's the thousands of people in this country who will get sick without any health care coverage. They are the dead men & women walking. Get off your little dixie butt and get to work to pass health care reform!

Niko Mahs is once again

Niko Mahs is once again wrong. The bill that is being pushed will NOT give healthcare to every American. It will REQUIRE every American to PURCHASE health insurance.....Except for those who already get everything for free. Free, as long as they vote Democrat. Slavery is alive and well in America in 2009, and the Democrats are in control of it. Health insurance and care is available to EVERY American today. All you have to do is go to work and pay for the premium. That is what RESPONSIBLE Americans do. WE pay for our needs before our wants. I don't have a bass boat, a jet-ski a motorcycle or other toys because I PAY for MY health and life insurance because that is the prudent thing to do. I'm tired of LAZY non-producers who want to STEAL more and more of what I work to earn for MY family. The time for freeloading is coming to an end. AMERICANS are tired of the growing number of welfare recipients who REFUSE to take care of themselves. We are tired of Liberals who continue to STEAL the fruits of OUR labor. CHANGE is coming in 2010 and 2012!

Ok Humble.... would you

Ok Humble.... would you kindly point out the jobs that are available and either pay for healthcare or pay enpough wages to purchase healthcare. I am sure you know where they are so clue in all these irresponsibel folks who are out of work and can't find decent work. BTW I watched the Presidents speach again this morning and He was adamant that a public plan would be included so I don't know where Sen Graham got his info. Perhaps he will clue us all in to his source. Now the supreme leader of the CONS (ElRushBo) dosen't count as a source.

The best healthcare plan is

The best healthcare plan is to eat right, excercise and take care of your body, keep ya immune system strong. And how would anybody think the government really cares about people's health when we have so many fast food joints and soda machines, that stuff is basically poison.

Dissman, Mara Lioson, a far

Dissman, Mara Lioson, a far leftie from National Propaganda Radio, appeared with Graham on Fox and also admitted the public option/government run health care is "dead". She reads the DIMs pretty good and knows that 2010 will be a landmark election and the "Blue dogs" are running scared. Reid is also "dead" come election time.

Actually, most of the people

Actually, most of the people who lack health care coverage are working and they are pretty healthy. Really sick people can't work. That's why they want to collect premiums- those are the ones who aren't a big user of health care.

Humbleopinion - you don't

Humbleopinion - you don't know what you are talking about. Tell me where a 50 year old man or woman with a history of curable cancer can get affordable coverage without a pre-existing exclusion clause? You should refrain from letting your emotions override common sense. And where does "slavery" come in to play. I suppose a self employed leukemia victim whose insurance is canceled after he is diagnosed could be considered a slave to the system, but a healthy person with coverage at an affordable rate, such as you obviously are, is not a victim. Enjoy your good health while it lasts. I hope you can still work hard and afford your health insurance when your health is not so good and the insurer no longer considers you a preferred risk.

What is the deal with the

What is the deal with the fines and where are we at with it? How do they expect families who have 2 incomes already and have fallen on hard times to pay a 3800/yr fine when they are having cars repo'd and behind on their mortgage? Why not help them out instead of giving everything under the sun to the lazy good for nothing babymakers who contribute absoluely nothing to society but crime and more dependants, that portion of taxes that working person pays that is used for these lazy able bodied people, its not much, but its that much more that could be used to help those who truely deserve it or if you are paying into the program you should be able to use it, but nooo they make to much money! If you work you can not get help with your illness to continue to work, if you do nothing but be lazy and procreate you get all the help cradle to the grave!

Surely Obama will want to

Surely Obama will want to include a strong statute in his Obamacare bill, that specifically includes everyone in government
will be forced to use the same Obamacare that he wants for the
rest of us, right? WRONG...Democrats were very clear in knocking down anything that would force them to use the same
Obamacare he wants us to have...Guess they must like Death
Panels, Big cuts in Medicare, and abortions, so long as Obama
and Congress don't have to use it.

Humbleopinion the statement

Humbleopinion the statement "Lazy non-producers" is sure a comunist type of statement. I don't know if I would use it again. But in any event I am glad you are satisfied with the premiums you pay for insurance. BTW life insurance isn't part of the discussion.

FLASH for HOCKEYMAN. The

FLASH for HOCKEYMAN. The Obama plan also allows doctors to KILL patients if they can't figure out what is wrong with them. This must be the case, because there is no specific language in the bill that forbids doctors from killing patients. That must be how they are going to ration healthcare. And all patients in the hospital will be required to furnish their own medications because it dosent have specific language denying that. Man, I am finding sooo many problems with secret things in the bill it is scarry. I need to get this to the great one immediately so that he can inform FOXXY LOXXY that all He** is breaking loose.

Takeastand. Currently

Takeastand. Currently premiums are a HE** of a lot more than 3800 dollars a year especially if you have to pay a deductible. Did it ever occur to you that if your payments to the insurance are lowered you may have a little more to save each month? BTW the programs you hate so much are not Federal, they are state and the Federal Government dosen't regulate them. You may want to look to your elected CONservative Governor for guidance and relief in the areas you wrote about. Don't get me wrong, I feel the same way as you about not having a fraud - waste - abuse organization we can report violations to.
