Atlanta-area police chase ends with 2 killed

JONESBORO, Ga. - Clayton County police say a stolen pickup truck being pursued by officers struck a car and killed two women, and a 24-year-old man is under arrest.

Clayton Police Lt. Rebecca Brown says the chase began Wednesday night when Clayton County police saw two men in the pickup appear to try to solicit prostitutes near Interstate Highway 75.

Brown says the men fled to the interstate and headed north, and wound up on Old National Highway in south Fulton County.

She says the two occupants jumped out of the truck and tried to run after the accident.

Brown says the driver, Christian Harris of Fayetteville, was arrested and the passenger eluded police. She says Harris will face charges that include vehicular homicide.

Watch, this dirtbag will have an army of lawyers to defend him. He'll get it plea bargained to some lesser offense, spend a couple of years in prison, if that, at taxpayers expense, then be out to do this again. What a screwed up legal system we have.

Yes, overburdened. Read the

Yes, overburdened. Read the first line where this was a "stolen" vehicle they were chasing - and I'm sure we all agree that a high speed chase that killed two innocent women is well-worth getting the guy that stole a truck. Lord help us all.

People read the article and

People read the article and get a clear understanding. The ladies that were killed were not prostitues. They were in a car that was struck by the truck being chased by the police. There are two innocent women who have lost their lives in this foolishness.

High speed chases are

High speed chases are inherently dangerous to the public and the officers chasing. Unless a violent felony crime is KNOWN to be taking place high speed chases should never be permitted. There is a national organization that was formed by the families of innocent people who were killed in these chases that has eye opening statistics. About half the chases will end in a crash where someone is hurt. Knowing that, why would you ever chase at a high speed in situations like this?

What's wrong with some of you? There were NO PROSTITUTES even mentioned in the article. Either learn to read or purchase reading glasses. My condolences to the two women who were killed by the speeders in the STOLEN truck.
