WASHINGTON -- The nastiness of August's health care debate reached into the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday as President Barack Obama tried to move his reform plan forward.

Rep. Joe Wilson

South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!" after Obama had talked about illegal immigrants.

It wasn't the only interruption during Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress in the House of Representatives. Earlier, Republicans laughed when Obama acknowledged that there are still significant details to be worked out before a health care overhaul can be passed.

Wilson's outburst caused Obama to pause briefly before he went on with his speech. Overhead in the visitors' gallery, first Lady Michelle Obama shook her head from side to side.

Talk about making a silk

Talk about making a silk purse out of a sow's ear! Though I don't care for boors, they do have their uses. Congressman Wilson has done wonders for President Obama's evil plan to keep Americans healthy. Wilson's behavior was also a godsend for his quick-thinking opponent, Democrat Rob Miller, whose fundraising efforts increased by $100,000 before eight o'clock this morning! This is what I call turning a SOC hop into donkey basketball. Once again, skill and cunning triumph over ignorance and superstition.

What is wrong with Joe

What is wrong with Joe speaking up. Sometime you just have to, especially when you have heard far too much bs from a b.s.er.
HR32O0
does not deny or confirm coverage for illegals, when a subject is not included in a bill then it is understood that the answer is yes. Wilson knew this and so did Obama. Obama was not telling the full story when he said in his bill illegals would not be covered. In his bill they will get it whether it is written or not.

Dem's are screaming because they fully well understand that illegals Will get medical coverage, and they have tried so hard to keep it hidden. WE owe brave men like Wilson a pat on the back, along with "wrong time, Joe".

He was running for a

He was running for a political office, need the white vote, had been "alledged" key word, that his pastor had a hate message for white folks. Ummm, yea I would get out too, wouldn't be surprised if Wright didn't tell him to leave. But Wright is just as hard on African Americans as he is on Anglos. I've heard the messages. We must face America has forgetten the foundation on which is founded, the moniker that surface on our currency." "In God We Trust" so we shouldn't we suffer it's consequences. I mean if we are true Christians, don't we believe we should pay for our sins, but I think we haven't been da***, because of an element called grace.
BUt, politically speaking, due to the mass wave of controversy, it was best for his campaign to part ways. You have to look at the situation in context.

I am sorry before I read R2's post, R2 summed it up. People were using that as an attack, so part ways. Smart move I would say.

I am currently reading the

I am currently reading the biography of Andrew Jackson. He had problems with the State of South Carolina back in 1833 with the notion of "nullification"; that is, if there is a federal law that a state does not like, they can nullify it within that state. Then 1861 comes and South Carolina decides to secede from the Union because they didn't like the rules. Then they fired on Fort Sumter instead of negotiating. Hundreds of thousands perish and the South suffers for decades.

Is it no surprise then that these South Carolina prima donnas carry on the tradition of saying the wrong thing and doing the wrong thing at the wrong time. Those who do not learn from their historical mistakes are doomed to repeat them.

Once again the psuedo

Once again the psuedo Christian, all-white cretin segment of the CSRA weighs in with the same old tired rhetoric. InChristsLove, nobody begrudges you and your ilk of being Christian, no matter what you say. Rather, they speak of the hypocrisy of tooting your horn about following Christ without living up to the principles you people howl about everyone else not having. There isn't a real Christian among you that acts like one. Old converted(from whatever)southerner repeats himself ad nauseum. Dude, can't you come up with something else? Rush has y'all by the gullet. You'll never progress, doomed to die unhappy because you just can't bring it upon yourselves to develop a little undertsanding of those in different boats than you. You still erroneously think that everyone who has questions about the health plan are rabid knee-jerk reactionaries like yourselves. What a hilariously pathetic lot. Even in the face of your failures of the last election, you think doing the same thing will somehow change people's minds. You guys will never learn. Waller in your hate, chumps. It becomes you.

Hotfoot I would have

Hotfoot I would have addressed you as an adult but I doubt you would have understood....So instead I will use what the President said in his speech last night so that maybe, just maybe you will understand...“I do think that, as I said last night, we have to get to the point where we can have a conversation about big, important issues that matter to the American people without vitriol, without name-calling, without the assumption of the worst in other people’s motives,”

Yes he was Rose and he

Yes he was Rose and he immediately apologized without being told to do so....Obama's own words, “I’m a big believer that we all make mistakes,” the president told reporters today. “He apologized quickly and without equivocation, and I’m appreciative of that,” Obama said. I believe Obama showed great character in his actions after the outburst and even later when he was "questioned" about his feelings toward Wilson unlike Pelosi...

Rose I also found out that

Rose I also found out that last night was not the first time someone or body has "heckled" the President during a State of the Union address....But the first half of Mr Bush's speech focused on domestic policy - and this is where he received loud heckles from some members of Congress. This was from his 2005 Address...I don't know who it just states Democratic members of Congress. It also says in his 2007 address he was "jeered" as well...Back to the point Obama showed great character in the way he handled the "clown" outburst...

I feel so much better after

I feel so much better after listening to our president last night. He has certainly cleared up many misconceptions that we had about the reform. We can only hope that the bill will become law soon and our president can sign it into law. We are all very excited after the joint session last night of democrats and Republicans.

Folks, let's be realistic for

Folks, let's be realistic for a minute. I know that is hard for our fellow posters on the right, but humor me.We already spend 2.5 trillion dollars a year on healthcare. It's projected to double to five trillion in the next ten years with the baby boomers retirement. But, let forget the increases and look at 2.5 trillion a year. That's 25 trillion in the next ten years. Now the president has proposed using a little over one trillion(deficit neutral funds) to help insure over 45 million uninsured. Now, looking at the big picture without the hysteria and politics of distortions, you will see the right's argument is a ruse.Remember, they didn't say anything about two of former president Bush's tax cuts for the rich totaling 1.3 trillion.Who out here believe healthcare won't rise in the next ten years? Rightwingers what's your response to this debacle.BTW, I got my projections while watching the 6:30 ABC Evening News.Feel free to check it out.

I don't know about heckling

I don't know about heckling Bush but I do recall members of congress tittering behind their hands while he was speaking. And don't forget that last night they actually laughed AT Obama when he talked about giving details. He has yet to give details because his team is still making them up as they go.

Questions: It has been 40

Questions: It has been 40 years that the Republicans have block health care. How many of your love ones have died waiting for an answer on treatment from the insurance? How many of your love ones were drop in the middle of treatment? How many of your love ones went broke after coming out of the hospital? How many of your love ones lost everything to their name? How many of your love ones wondering if they can pay for medicine? How many of your love ones have had their doctors sent their bills to collections? How many of your love ones credit report scores are below 500 because of health care? How many of your loves have judgments because of health care? How many of your love ones are afraid to even go to the doctor because they know that they can't afford the 20% of the bill? How many of your love ones are having their older kids being drop from their policy? The list goes on. If we didn't have to ask these questions, then we could come to the conclusion that our health care for this country is pretty good but that isn't true. Please, one last question for you. If it hasn't happened to you yet, you need ask yourself when will I'll be next?
