WASHINGTON -- The nastiness of August's health care debate reached into the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday as President Barack Obama tried to move his reform plan forward.

South Carolina Republican Rep. Joe Wilson shouted "You lie!" after Obama had talked about illegal immigrants.

It wasn't the only interruption during Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress in the House of Representatives. Earlier, Republicans laughed when Obama acknowledged that there are still significant details to be worked out before a health care overhaul can be passed.

Wilson's outburst caused Obama to pause briefly before he went on with his speech. Overhead in the visitors' gallery, first Lady Michelle Obama shook her head from side to side.

There is a provision for

There is a provision for illegal immigrants to purchase coverage under the government health plan. There is also a provision that pays for abortion. So, believe what you will, but why it so important for Obama to ram this government run health care system down our throats? Is it because he eventually wants to control every aspect of our lives? Sooner or later he will introduce his intention to eliminate term limits for president, so that he may stay in power indefinitely. Wait and see.

grinder48...here are a few or you can go to snopes.com and type in Lies told by Obama. In Obama’s famous DNC Convention speech, Obama says, “My father was a foreign student, born and raised in a small village in Kenya. He grew up herding goats, went to school in a tin-roof shack. His father my grandfather was a cook, a domestic servant to the British.” LIE Tim Russert and Obama had the following exchange:Russert: “When we talked back in November of ‘04 after your election, I said, ‘There’s been enormous speculation about your political future. Will you serve your six-year term as United States senator from Illinois?’”Obama: “I will serve out my full six-year term. You know, Tim, if you get asked enough, sooner or later you get weary and you start looking for new ways of saying things. But my thinking has not changed.”Russert: “So you will not run for president or vice president in 2008?”Obama: “I will not.” Another LIE..“I am the only candidate who isn’t taking a dime from Washington lobbyist” LIAR The record shows quite the opposite.

If anyone is allowed to

If anyone is allowed to purchase coverage, then that contributes to the insurence pool, so what's the problem? And there is absolutely no provision for gov't funded abortion. Absolutely none. NONE, NONE, NONE! Do I need to say it louder? Yeah, I know. The right wing is deaf to all reason and perfectly open to all lies and misinformation. It is what they are redued to since they are out of power. It's only hyman (or in their case, subhuman) nature. When health care coverage becomes more affordable, many of them will be the first ones with their hands out. And that's no lie.

Obama lies continued...“I did not recall meeting Nadhmi Auchi at any time or on any occasion” - LIAR - But a government witness said on Monday, during Antoin Rezko’s corruption trial, that he recalled seeing Sen. Barack Obama at a party that Rezko held in 2004 to honor Nadhmi Auchi, an Iraqi-born tycoon. Jedex6 the "abortion" cry

Jedex6 the "abortion" cry comes from the way the proposed legislation is written...the debate over whether the government funds abortion through the healthcare bill is over whether the Capps amendment really uses premiums paid by individuals-as opposed to federal funds-to pay for abortion. The Capps amendment's segregation-of-funds clause is a "bookkeeping sham" because money from the government, individuals, and employers effectively goes into the same pot to finance health insurance benefits. Should congressional Democrats decline to reauthorize Hyde amendment-which must be voted on each year with the appropriations bill for the Health and Human Services Department-the Capps amendment stipulates that federal funds could finance abortion. President Obama's 2010 budget left the Hyde Amendment in place. Hence HR 3200 "could" finance abortion....You interpret it how you will....

All you angry folks need to

All you angry folks need to form an army and take back the nation you built. No need for name calling or anything else; we are not getting anywhere with all the theatrics. Let South Carolina be the first to secede and you all get you grey jackets and muskets and do whatever is necessary--since you are the only contributing humans on the planet. I agree whole heartedly with you plight.

You can dress them up, but

You can dress them up, but you just can't take them anywhere. See this proves that President Obama IS NOT a Muslim. If he was, Charlie Wilson would have been hustled out quicker than the shoe throwing Bush basher guy, who was BEAT and imprisoned. I saw the other day where they were releasing that guy by the way. As usual Obama was COOL under pressure. This guys' 10 seconds of fame is not important. However, I bet his name goes on the white house watch list as of last night.

It is very unfortunate one of

It is very unfortunate one of our lawmakers would make an outburst like that toward the president. The level of disrespect toward our president is wrong. People like him lessen the authority of our president and place us under risk of attack by terrorist because it makes our leadership look weak and definitely divided. Once the election is over, the president is the president and he should get support of our elected officials in Washington to make the US better. Yes there will be debate, yes there will be compromise. That is what makes our nation what it is, but we have learned from history - division and disrespect for our leadership leads to the breakdown of our nation. Some of our leaders need to study their history and especially American Government. How do we expect the children to Not Be Left Behind when some of our lawmakers can't get it right.

R2 explain this.....On

R2 explain this.....On January 24, the Obama campaign released a statement, saying, “To be clear, Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised a Muslim, and is a committed Christian who attends the United Church of Christ in Chicago. BUT,Obama practiced it daily at school, where he was registered as a Muslim and kept that faith for 31 years, until his wife made him change, so he could run for office. His School In Indonesia Was Muslim based, he was registered as Muslim there and got in trouble in Koranic Studies for making faces (check his own book).

Wait a minute before we jump

Wait a minute before we jump on Rev. Wright.
It's not racist when America has lost its sense of value and we do take God for granted. Just as he did Sodom and Gomorrah, he should the same. And these were soundbites from a couple of his sermons that do not capture the total essence of his ministry. Have you heard his sermon on the inconsistency of the Black father, and the problems in the black community that we need to address. Media just took a couple fo sound bites to make you all, folks who are not familiar with his total ministry angry. So please stop using Jeremiah Wright as an excuse.

People are allowed to say

People are allowed to say anything they want. I dislike what Joe said, but he has guts. Everyone should be proud of their opinions and display their views openly. Maybe a special colored shirt or pin or something. So that you can recognize all that don't share your views and we can walk on different sides of the street. No more smiling in people faces --that you just don't give a rat's butt about.

JHS, plenty of non-Catholic

JHS, plenty of non-Catholic students in Catholic parochial schools repeat the prayers and observe some of the rituals of that faith. It is the respectful thing to do. Pres. Obama was not a Muslim, but attended a Muslim school in Indonesia. Perhaps it was the best school available, just as sometimes inner-city parents send their kids to Catholic school instead of the under-performing public school in their neighborhood. What, exactly, is so offensive in this? Evidently, you despise Muslims and feel that our president's experience in a Muslim country has tainted him irrevocably. In other words, you're a hateful bigot. Why not stop spewing "evidence" and admit it. Save us all some time.

Justbe...True I do not know

Justbe...True I do not know what Rev. Wright's "whole" message is. But I ask you this, Why did Obama chose to unequivocally, part ways with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. If his message is "true" in nature and was merely taken out of context then why would Obama do an about face? Does he "bend" to pressure on what he believes? I am just asking?

Let's face it...there's a contingent of our population that cheered when the Congressman yelled out...and there's another contingent that will allow and has allowed the President to say ANYTHING. Being the intelligent man

Being the intelligent man that he is, President Obama saw that some ( people like yourself) would try to use Rev Wright's conversation to put him in a negative light. Knowing that he was called to lead this country out of the quagmire it was in, he chose, for the better good, to disassociate himself from Rev Wright. What an awesome President we have!
