Three pedestrians have been injured after a man lost control of his car in a Martinez subdivision tonight.

Columbia County sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said the driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix, 23-year-old Kirk Johnson of Martinez, has been arrested and charged driving with a suspended license, driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane. Charges of driving under the influence are pending.

The victims, who suffered non-life threatening injuries, were outside cutting grass about 6:45 p.m. when they were hit by Mr. Johnson’s vehicle, Capt. Morris said. George Brown, 34, a resident of 3871 Villa Lane, was in good condition at University Hospital. Donald Ford, 76, of Augusta, was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital. A 15-year-old, Isaac Anthony, who also lives at 3871 Villa Lane, received minor injuries from the accident and did not require hospitalization.

Well Well, not really any suprise here, if its the same guy, I see this isn't this [filtered word]'s first dui!!!! He needs to do a few years, maybe that will get his attention, and hes a thief too! and he has a disorderly from being drunk. He's is an alcoholic who so stupid he used his first offender on a misdemeanor!! haha serves him right. Put him in jail for a long time, we should protest to make sure he does!!!! MADD doesn't seem to be getting things done, I'm looking forward to the day I can protest with a group of people who want to get these laws changed for these [filtered word] repeat offender drunk drivers!!!!!

To hear about 15 emergency

To hear about 15 emergency vehicles responding to this incident was rather disturbing. It would have humbled your opinion.

He has several charges in RC

He has several charges in RC also. He has not been made accountable for any of his charges. He gets caught over and over and over w/o much consequence. That is BS. They are going to wait until this punk kills someone before they make him pay and his victims will pay more than him for sure!!!!! I would say mommy and daddy keep getting him out of trouble, but the fact is, the system never punishes these people the way they should be, they take away their license.. big fricken deal, as you see, they drive anyway...and drunk!!!! Lock these losers up!!!!!

mgr are you for real??? Is this a rich neighborhood or something? About 2 motnhs ago a woman was laid out on the side walk at walgreens and it took like 37 minutes for anyone to get there, and the fire dept was only like 2 blocks away!!!!! When the ambulance showed up, the fat blonde girl just moseyed on over like it wasnt a big deal like she was fixing to go shopping, no urgency what so ever. We had to call for help over and over and over.... over half an hour to get to a hospital 5 minutes away... fricken pathetic!!!!!!!

TakeAStand where do you get

TakeAStand where do you get your information? How do you know that he has not been made to answer to previous charges? However, it does not matter if he has been jailed previously. What matters is that Justice be served this time! The driver should face the most severe penality for this sensless crime. Incarceration is necessary. He will DUI again when released, no matter how long a sentence he gets. It is an illness and can not be cured, maybe put in remission, but never cured.

TakeAstand so many times that

TakeAstand so many times that is the case as we all know. But in a fifteen minute period they were coming in with sirens blaring. My thought is when they got the call on 3 people being hit at once, they didn't have the option of taking so long. As for this kid, I'm with you. Something needs to be done to keep us from reading another article that could mention fatalities.

The CC & RC website. You can

The CC & RC website. You can tell he hasn't served enough time, look at the dates of all his infractions, obviously he was out to do all those and his punishment wasn't enough to make him stop. the past 4 years holds quite a record. the other name like his with no middle name, has drug and dui charges also from last year, so if thats him he still a repeater, less than a year, but im guessing thats all the same person, but either way hes a repeat offender drunk driver who didn't learn his lesson. Funny I couldnt find in on the AC no where under arrests inditements nothing. He must come from money..lol

(S)tormy, putting Johnson and

(S)tormy, putting Johnson and irresponsible drivers like him under the jail would do irreparable harm to the DUI-attorney and private probation industries.

I apologize for getting so

I apologize for getting so worked up, I usually don't. But those of you who know me, know I go off on repeat offender drunk drivers, they make me sick. They are some of the most selfish people in the world. They don't care about themselves, anyone else on the road, or even their families. It's hard to, but I can even give a pass t first timers, well not a pass, but not be as harsh, to some dumb kids doing it once and learning his lesson, but for repeat offenders, they don't learn their lessons, they deserve no sympathy. I hate reading about these [filtered word]'s with 4, 5, 6, 11, duis and still out free to drive. Their drunk driving reaches farther than to just those who had the misfortune of crossing paths with them even if everyone survives, even then they are not punished correctly. The only time anyone stops these people is after someone is killed, and then its to late. You are 100% correct Newsreader, they will never be cured and if they refuse to stop driving drunk over and over then someone needs to protect the public from them, they should be locked up for life if thats the only way to protect everyone! For everytime they got caught theres so so so many more they didn't!

Way to go AC. Why publish

Way to go AC. Why publish charges of DUI are "pending?" They are not. The driver has been cleared of all possible DUI charges after a police investigation. Apparently, a vehicle malfunction caused the steering to lock and the vehicle to go off the road. Nice going haters. Sure the kid's got a prior but this wasn't a subsequent infraction. But whoa did we ever get a lot of peeps stirred up with that one sentence. Top notch journalism indeed.
