Summer temp only hits 100 twice

  • Follow Latest News

This summer's temperatures have been about average, weather experts say, but there is one indicator that things might have been a bit cooler.

The Augusta area has seen only two days this year where the temp topped 100.

Al Moore, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in West Columbia, S.C., says the 100 mark was reached on June 27 and July 1.

Last summer, the Augusta area had five days with temperatures of 100 or higher.

In the summer of 2007, the area had 15 such days, all in August, Mr. Moore said.

Well, so much for kookie Al

Well, so much for kookie Al Gore and his follower's ideas about global warming. I's all a scam, but we will all have to pay more for electric power because of the Carbon Capping Laws!

This has been the nicest

This has been the nicest summer I can recall. Al Gore must be cursing the Gods, and there is not a hurricane in sight for him to gloat over. Knock on wood.

Guess this could still be

Guess this could still be global warming. Let's see, how can we help AlGore spin this . . . . I know: The abnormally high temperatures caused by the industrialized rich nations' production of CO2 caused the ice to melt. This caused large chunks to break off and float around in areas of the earth it doesn't normally float in. Thus, like ice in your lemonade glass, it had a temporary cooling effect on the earth! There . . . see how easy it is to be a liberal/progressive/socialist? All you have to do is stop taking your paranoia medication and think like a Neanderthal !

when it's hot, it's global warming. When it's cool, it's going to be global warming, you just wait. Committed to ignorance.

Its easy to make young people

Its easy to make young people believe in Global Warming because kids sit inside air conditioned rooms playing video games all day long. We weren't allowed to do that when I was a kid (wow I sound old). We played outside hot or cold.

Either way this has been one

Either way this has been one hot summer for me. The heat and the humidity is the only thing I really dislike about living in the CSRA. As far as global warming is concerned: you haven't seen nothing yet...wait till Jesus comes back. LOL

The earth is in the deepest

The earth is in the deepest extended solar minimum in a century. Its a period of few sunspots. It was supposed to end in 2006 but is still going on. Temperatures are cooler when the sun is in this part of the cycle. They're hotter in the solar maximus that was supposed to be in 2012. Now that is delayed until at least 2014. Weather type scientists are concerned that the sun is not coming out of the solar minimum. It is expected that the next cycle will restart anytime and temperatures will again start rising. Sunspot magnetic fields are dropping by about 50 gauss per year since the early 1990's. If something doesn't change soon, the trend shows that sunspots will disappear by 2015. ........http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2009/03sep_sunspots.htm

We're almost on the Burke

We're almost on the Burke county line about two miles west of the river and we've had week after week this year of 100F weather this summer. This year was the worst. The hottest was 105F. Seldom rained. A drive up Mike Padgett showed that rain left off in the vicinity of IP and from there on south it would be dry. And we've multiple digital thermometers outside and I know that it was HOT. The wreath on the front door melted.

Seems Al Gore was right

Seems Al Gore was right before he was wrong. He predicted Global Cooling before he started talking about Global Warming.
