An Augusta man told police he was the victim of an armed robbery early Saturday at his home.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, two men kicked in the front door of the house in the 2300 block of Knox Avenue about 3:40 a.m, grabbed the man and threw him on the floor. One of the robbers then struck the man on the head with a black revolver.

The men fled with a desktop computer worth $100, a Samsung 42-inch flat screen TV worth $1,000, a Samsung 21-inch flat screen TV worth $300, a Playstation 2 worth $150, a wallet containing an unknown amount of cash, and DVDs and video games, the report said.

This does not surprise me after finding out the area. Law abiding citizens it is time to arm yourself and defend yourself. These thugs will not stop until they are taking a dirt nap. People may think I am paranoid for carrying around my house, I may be paranoid but if my day comes I will be prepared.

TakeAstand

You aren't paranoid RAWR, you are smart!! I look forward to hearing some stories where the homeowner proctects himself and prevents these [filtered word]'s from doing this to others too.... permanently!!! No description?

brimisjoshan

I do think the time has come for the average citizen to arm himself and take all precautions. We live among a bunch of thieves and killers in this world. (wonder if this breaks the comment policy...it seems any statement i make they want to yank off the thread.

People need to reinforce their doors and secure their windows. Criminal may eventually get in (probably quit trying and leave) but at least a homeowner would have time to grab their gun.

Face it folks, we can't stop this and it will only get worse. If we actually tried to do something about the crime spree, the ACLU would send a team of lawyers to defend the punks, the AP would take and publish photos sympathetic to the punks and one of Obama's "Diversity Czars" would be sent down to help re-educate us as to the special sensitivities that made the punks do what they did - yep, our fault somehow.

spdermn78

were the robbers movers... something fishy about this roobery. They hit him over the head and removed all these items.. what did he do, help them load the T.V. in their car while making lemonade. Please investigate this one RCSO to the fullest.

spokentruth

I bet the tvs were on a rental contract from RentACenter...lol

The Big O

TakeAstand - do you really need a description. Just look at 98% of the other descriptions and mugshots of violent criminals in the AC and imply the obvious.

TakeAstand

No, I don't need one at all, just finding it odd the past couple of days there has been no mention of descriptions in a lot of robberies with eye witnesses.....hmmmmm LOL I bet justus has a theory!

TakeAstand

spdermn, what do you mean something is fishy, movers? They had a gun on him and already assaulted him. Wth would you do? Anyone would let them take what they want to leave without hurting or killing them. I doubt this guy was a Steven Seagal or something, wth did you really expect him to do?

zcock

So you can make comments on this story but not on the furniture store owner. Things that make you go him.......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Asitisinaug

VIOLENT CRIMINALS that hurt other human beings to get/take what they want and that is the lowest of the low except for the murderers. Thieves deserve jail time but violent criminals deserve the death penalty, no matter what sex, race or reason. Everyone at the very least needs an alarm sytem with audiable siren that also notifies an alarm company as this will deter most criminals. And, if you have the proper training and feel confident you will use it if you pull it, then arm yourself and help end the madness then and there.

zcock: the reason you can comment on this story and not the furniture store owner is that "money talks." And it talks louder when you got a good lawyer.

ugadawgbite

Wouldn't it be hmmmmmmm z c? You moron...
