Two sought in morning holdup

Police are searching for two men involved in an armed robbery this morning at the Check Exchange at 3215 Wrightsboro Road.

Richmond County Sgt. Calvin Chew said that at about 7:40 a.m. two men approached the manager at the front door while he was unlocking the business. One of the robbers was armed with a black handgun. The two men forced the manager to the back of the business and took an unknown amount of money from the business’ safe.

One of the robbers was described as a black male with a dark complexion, between 22 and 26 years old, about five feet eight to nine inches tall, weighing between 190 and 200 pounds, and wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark pants and a black baseball cap.

The second robber was described as a black male with a dark complexion, between 22 and 26 years old, about five feet 10 inches tall and weighing between 205 and 210 pounds, wearing a dark sweatshirt, dark pants and a dark baseball cap.

The two men fled west on Wrightsboro Road in a red Ford Focus hatchback that was driven by an accomplice, who was described as a black male with a light complexion.
