Armed robbery reported at motel

Authorities are searching for suspects who broke into an Augusta motel room and held occupants at gunpoint tonight.

Richmond County sheriff’s deputies responded to the armed robbery at the Augusta Super Inn on the 1600 block of Gordon Highway around 9:23 p.m., a Richmond County 911 dispatcher said. The suspects kicked in the door of room 203 brandishing a gun and demanding money, the dispatcher said.
