Although police say Mr. Smith didn't injure anyone, he is accused of firing the first shot in the incident at T and S Trailer Park, which sparked other gunfire.

More than a week ago, Akia Raziel Jordan, 17, was arrested in the fatal shooting, being charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, assault and battery with intent to kill, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and simple assault and battery. Police also named Maurice Lamont Council, 18, of Carriage Hills Place, as a suspect in the incident.

Sgt. Myers said Mr. Smith was injured in the shooting and was recently released from Medical College of Georgia Hospital. Mr. Smith was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center, where bond was posted and he was later released.

The victim who was fatally shot in the case has been identified as James Collins, 16, of Aiken.
