Today Congressman Paul Broun of Georgia's 10th congressional district released his Monday, August 10th Columbia County Health Care Town Hall video on YouTube. He scheduled two community health care meetings earlier this month in Evans and Clarkesville. They were so popular that Broun held back-to-back town halls at both events in order to accommodate the crowds.
Democrat or Republican, how can you possibly stick up for what this administration is doing to our country? WASHINGTON: In a chilling forecast, the White House is predicting a 10-year federal deficit of $9 trillion which is more than the sum of all previous deficits since America's founding. And it says by the next decade's end the national debt will equal three-quarters of the entire U.S. economy. Holders of U.S. debt, particularly foreign bondholders, could demand interest rate increases that would quickly be felt in the pocketbooks of American consumers. In case you forgot, Obama PROMISED us with a vow of cutting the deficit in half by 2013. Instead, he is tripling the deficit and this doesn’t even include health care reform. Even supporters of Obama's economic policies said the long-term outlook places the federal government on an unsustainable path. WHAT IS IT THAT YOU WHO SUPPORT OBAMA, PELOSI, REID AND FRANK AREN'T GETTING?
Health care panels decide our medical coverage now and a long bill doesn't make the bill bad. Who created the chart shown? Broun is a M.D. and has been raking in the money for years! Of course he does not want any changes, he's been raking in the big bucks courtesy of YOU! What a bunch of bull! He and doctors like him are the reason health care is in the dire straights of today! He may have to cut short a country club membership when the bill passes. How many country club memberships do you have??? Why are you listening to the enemy? People like him are one of the reasons why healthcare is in such a mess. His is so greedy that he had to go into public office to try and block any reforms!
Who is our advocate? Certainly not these doctors like Broun who are in cahoots with the insurance and drug companies! That is who we need to protest against! Wake up America!
Actually John Q, most politicians are lawyers. Tort reform would result in many less frivilous law suits and is estimated to be able to reduce medical billing by as much as 25%. As for comparing myself or anyone else to a Doctor and country club memberships, that is just ridiculous. If I paid for 4 years of college and recieved good grades followed by 4-6 years of medical school followed by 2 years as an intern I would certainly expect to make a great living and be a part of a country club or whatever else I wanted to be a part of. Your point is well taken though and goes to prove that when you go with a government program that sets the rates and makes the decisions for the doctors, etc. you will have very few going into the medical profession and you will have a Dr. shortage in no time. Teachers are actually paid ok and even they believe they deserve more from the government and there is certainly a teacher shortage so add 6 more years of schooling to go to work as a Doctor for the government and you can only imagine how many people will be jumping at the chance. This idiotic health care proposal is wrong for so many reasons. Lets TRY to fix what we already have in govt.
JohnQ, you could hardly be more poorly informed if you had lived in a cave for the past 20 years. Do you want the smartest people as doctors or people at the same level as your mailman? Just think about what will happen to you health care if doctors become federal employees. If you've ever worked for the government, you'd know enough to be very afraid.
Lux- what bill is on the table to have the same health care system as the UK?
Brounie, you are doing one heck a job! So does a slug!
Broun pack your bags and get a job.
asitis, please share your source. Over 2/3 of our states have passed some sort of tort reform and have nothing to show for it. In 2003, Texas passed some of the most aggressive tort reform laws in the nation. What do they have to show for it since it's inception the 3rd fastest rise in the nation in healthcare costs. There has been no correlation between tort reform and cost reduction. The insurers offer the malpractice and they have you all out believing a false argument. Of all the states that have passed tort reform show me one that had a reduction in medical insurance/costs.
This man is so very sad and he calls himself and educated person, a doctor??? I have watched him on TV when they have shown broadcasts of the Senate in session. He is a totally sicking to watch and even harder to listen to and gain anything of substance. It is time for him to be run out of office on a rail.
I DON'T AGREE WITH ANYTHING Paul Broun SAYS...and I have repeatedly called his
'office" to talk and never received a call back. I am so sorry I voted for this a$$. He is an embarrassment to my state and to America & I can't wait to see him be replaced!!! I agree with JohnQPublic
Hmmm, considering what has been said on here, I need to take a closer look at Mr. Broun. I agree with AsitisinAugusta and Fiat Lux on this one. I think I'll give him another listen next time he's talking.
I just heard this video clip. Thanks for providing it.
