ATLANTA — Police say a Kirkwood man suffered non life-threatening injuries after a man trying to steal his weed wacker shot him several times.

Atlanta police say Kenneth Hagen was cutting his grass late Friday morning when a man in a red car shot at him several times and tried to take the trimmer.

Police say Hagen was hit three times in the torso area but was able to provide information to officers arriving on the scene.

Police are looking for a red Kia with a tag that includes the numbers 4247. It was unclear today if the shooter got away with the weed wacker.

I always heard people wouldn't steal anything to work with. That's sure not the case anymore.I've never seen the like of robberies,( banks, stores, people), in this area in my life! The Chronicle suggested women learn karate.Karate won't stop a bullet.Buy a 38 S&W, learn how to use it, and get a permit and carry it!

The man's weed wacker might

The man's weed wacker might have been a Stihl - the orange and white units that you see professionals using. The Stihl brand is like the Mercedes Benz of weed wackers costing from $300 to $400 for the base unit. When you start throwing in various attachments, this unit can end up costing nearly $800 to $1000. As the slogan goes, "You're not a Professional unless you got a Stihl." lol.
