A Grovetown man, who said he stopped Thursday to give directions to a woman and three men on an Augusta street, told police he was Tasered, beaten and robbed of cash, items and his car.

According to a Richmond County sheriff’s report, the incident happened in the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard about 3:30 a.m.

The victim said the four suspects fled in his car after robbing him of about $500. In the car was a cell phone, a Dell laptop and a flat screen TV, according to the report. The man, 36, suffered a few minor scratches to his head, but refused treatment.

The victim’s 2002 Ford Explorer was found abandoned on Old Savannah Road, about a mile away from where the carjacking occurred, according to a sheriff’s report.

I guess Professor Gray would

I guess Professor Gray would not mind walking that neighborhood at that time, would he. He sure dosen't want any added police to the area because that would be profiling. And such a fine little neighborhood to be taking a nightly drive through - if you are looking for target practice or the neighborhood pharmacy.

Why would somebody from

Why would somebody from Grovetown be there at 3:30 AM? In fact, why would anybody be over there at 3:30am. Something does not sound quite right.

Like I said, wait for the

Like I said, wait for the FACTS; if the story is untrue, RCSO will find out and let everyone know. In the meantime, I'll wait before passing judgment. KLS, how do you know the man did not have the TV installed? And why does everyone out at 3:30 am have to be a drug dealer? I have been asked by pedestrians for directions, even after dark, but I take precautions (don't get out of the car, don't unlock doors or roll windows down beyond a finger width, and usually say I don't know [because I generally don't]). I would not like any of you serving on a jury because you make up your minds before you know what the entire story is about--no wonder innocent people are sent to prison.
