Apartment rent boxes robbed

  • Follow Latest News

Richmond County investigators are looking into the theft of nearly $4,000 in money orders from the drop boxes at two apartment complexes last month.

Investigator Mike Lanham said the money orders were stolen from Woodlake Club Apartments on Amli Way and Heritage Apartments off Jackson Road. Investigator Lanham said apartment patrons continue to report their money orders stolen and that anyone depositing their checks by drop box should be wary.

Anyone with information on the thefts can call the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080.

I would never use a drop box

I would never use a drop box to pay the rent. If my landlord wants me to pay them then they will give me a reciept before I hand over my money.
