Akia Raziel Jordan, 17, surrendered to authorities Saturday afternoon, Aiken County sheriffs Capt. Troy Elwell announced today.
Mr. Jordan has been charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, assault and battery with intent to kill, possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime and simple assault and battery, according to jail records.
Police are also searching for 18-year-old Maurice Lamont Council, of Carriage Hills Place, in the shooting, which occurred Wednesday at a residence on T and S Drive.
Two people had been shot, police said. Sammie Smith, 33, of Wadley Drive, was shot several times and taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital.
A juvenile victim was taken to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where he was pronounced dead. Aiken County Coroner Tim Carlton identified him as James Collins, 16, of Aiken, and said he was apparently involved in a verbal altercation before the shooting.
