Georgia State Patrol Trooper Rich Fishel said RaSheedah Muhammad, 26, has been charged with vehicular homicide, driving under the influence, driving too closely and driving without a license.
The victim of the crash, 19-year-old Curtis Evans Jr., was riding in a Chevrolet S-10 truck traveling east near the 157-mile marker in Warren County early Saturday morning when a vehicle hit the truck from behind, according to Warren County Coroner Paul Lowe. The driver of the truck and Mr. Evans were ejected. Mr. Evans was pronounced dead at 3:57 a.m. at the scene, Mr. Lowe said.
The driver of the truck was taken to the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and has since been released. Trooper Fishel said the accident is still being investigated.
