Authorities have identified the driver in a Tuesday fatal accident on Richmond Hill Road.
Nathaniel Thomas, 26, of the 1700 block of Essie McIntyre Boulevard, was driving the blue Chevrolet Impala when he lost control and hit a tree at about 4 p.m., according to Richmond County Sheriffs Lt. Scott Gay. A passenger in the car, Terrill Mason, 25, of the 2000 block of Dallas Drive, died in the accident.
Charges of homicide by motor vehicle are pending against Mr. Thomas, who is at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital undergoing treatment for his injuries, Lt. Gay said.
The vehicle in which the two were riding was involved in a carjacking about 1:30 that morning.
Sheriffs investigators say they are still looking into whether the two crash victims had any connection to the carjacking.
Didn't this same kind of thing happen a coupla' days ago over on Richmond Hill Road?
You mean this is a seperate incident? What's going on with all the carjackings?
Also, if this is related to a carjacking do not call it an accident.
Hey, the only problem is that it didn't kill both of the thugs in either one of these incidents. Now we've got hospital bills, trials, lawyers fees, incarceration (if we can find a judge that will actually lock somebody up). The poor taxpayer just can't catch a break.
I am glad both didn't die... I hope he will be convicted for vehicular homicide.
I believe the car was jacked on Merry Street and later crashed on Richmond Hill Road.
1313@6:11pm-Thats what I heard.
I think this article was changed considerably since early this afternoon.
Sorry thugs - just want to steal somebody else's property instead of working to pay for their own. Justice, sweet justice!
Why not let them die. Who needs them anyway. Certainly not decent society. If they do live then go for the death penalty.
