Richmond County investigators are searching for a man wanted in a shooting in the 1500 block of Gordon Highway early today.
The man is believed to have been driving a distinct pickup truck while the shooting occurred.
Investigators said the truck is an older model blue Chevrolet C-10 or S-10 with silver flames painted on the hood, Richmond County sheriffs Sgt. Blaise Dresser stated in an e-mail. It also had large chrome rims and smoke stack style exhaust pipes near the back window. At about 2:30 a.m., a 23-year-old man said he and his brother were driving east on Gordon Highway when the driver of the truck pulled alongside him and began shooting, the e-mail stated. The victim fled to his brothers home with gunshot wounds to his leg and arm. He was then transported to Medical College of Georgia Hospital for treatment. Around that same time, a second man reported that as he was driving on Gordon Highway near Molly Pond Road, a man in a truck with the same description threw a liquor bottle on the hood of his car. The 39-year-old victim said he drove closer to the truck in order to get the license plane number and the driver then pointed a black handgun at him, the e-mail stated.
Anyone with information on the driver can call the sheriffs office at (706) 821-1080 or (706) 821-1020. Callers may remain anonymous.
