Atlanta Bread Company robbed Thursday

  • Follow Latest News

A masked man beat two Atlanta Bread Company employees with a baseball bat Thursday night in an attempt to steal money from the restaurant’s safe.

A manager for the restaurant, on Robert C. Daniel Jr. Parkway, told Richmond County Sheriff’s deputies he was leaving out of the back door at about 11:12 p.m. when he saw a man was standing outside with a baseball bat raised above his head, a Richmond County Sheriff’s report said.

The suspect, who was wearing what appeared to be a cotton shirt with eye holes cut out, pulled the manager back into the store and then began striking him and another employee with the bat in their upper bodies. The manager was nearly knocked unconscious by a blow to the head then the suspect forced him to his feet and demanded the money in the store’s safe, the report said.

The manager opened the safe and the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot.

He was described as a black male, about five feet eight inches in height and weighing between 120 and 140 pounds, the report said. Anyone with information can contact the sheriff’s office at (706) 821-1080.

Will this never end? Don't

Will this never end? Don't you people know "God's Gonna get you for that?" Instead of beating and robbing people you had better get down on your knees and start praying.

You all must remember that

You all must remember that these were employees of Atlanta Bread Company. If they were armed and they defended themselves they would be fired from Atlanta Bread. I would rather lose my job rather than lose my life. I think we should boycott businesses that do not allow their employees to carry. Especially when they have jobs that have high risks of being robbed.

These sub-human little

These sub-human little heathers don't care about God but they will care about a .40 Smith and Wesson ripping their chest apart. Arm yourself and shoot to kill. Nobody will miss these (insert standard description) thugs and dead men can't sue. But at least these thugs are "honest" about it. They steal from us up front and open and it's legal to shoot them. Unlike Obama who steals from us with the act of a Democrat Congress. Both ends of the spectrum but the same mentality and the results are the same and should be resisted with the same ferocity....at the voting booth. I am tired of this "you've got something and we are going to take it from you" attitude from the lowest scumbags to the the highest scumbags. It must be genetic.

Well said madmax. Arm

Well said madmax. Arm yourself and start dropping these thugs on the ground. When will a certain segment of the population start addressing their violent crime problem, their lack of education problem, their lack of respect problem, and their laziness problem instead of blaming others for all their shortcomings?

crime is crime and is

crime is crime and is committed by individuals. i was a victim of an armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon (shot at) and kidnapping. i hold no gender, ethnic group, nor economic class responsible except the individual who committed the crime. i am am black , my assaulter, white ...it would be absurd for me to compare Bush and the Republican Party as the "upper end of the spectrum" of the criminal element as our dear friend mad max so put it and as his cheering sector The Ode always adds his amens. my suggestion is that you two fellows stop using this blog as your "virtual" hoods and get out be brave wear those hoods in public!, march! protest! get those hate messages across to the people!!!!!

White T-shirts used over the head and face ? ? Is this their new thing to do ( founded by the hood mentality) ? Well, let's suspect and start questioning males walking around with bare chest and white t-shirts in hand/on shoulders/wrapped arounded their head in bus. areas and decent neighborhoods.

RawR: Why would any business

RawR: Why would any business allow employees to carry a gun? This is giving them permission to use it on the co-worker, customer or manager if they make them mad. I think all those officers that was giving out tickets on those illegal turns near Wheeler road should have been on duty to patrol that area for all the numerous robberies.

The odds are not looking good

The odds are not looking good for the upstanding, law abiding members of our society. We seem to be getting outnumbered by the [filtered word] idiots who think that they are somehow entitled to the things that we WORK so hard to obtain. You know, my Dad gave me a gun for graduation and I put it up thinking I would never have to use it. Guess it's time to dust it off and hit the shooting range for some practice......

I agree with freedom crime

I agree with freedom crime is crime and is committed by individuals. Whomever committed this blatant criminal act needs to be put away for a very long time. But race should not be a determining factor in whatever penalty is given out but the seriousness of the crime should. I love all people because we are all God's children some of us just chose to serve the devil.

Who will the bandits hit

Who will the bandits hit next? I think I'm gonna start hanging around shopping centers and such so I can catch one of these thugs. I don't have a job and I could collect a reward. Is there a reward for catching crooks; other than self gratification?

I don't know why all this

I don't know why all this antisocial behavior is such a surprise. Hard economic times are just like a hand squeezing a sponge: Whatever is on the inside pours out. It parents can't be bothered to put good stuff into the minds and hearts of their kids and just let them grow up like animals, then when they get squeezed by life, only evil comes out of them. Fewer and fewer people believe there are any genuinely unbearable consequences for evil behavior against their fellow man, and certainly they aren't concerned about their place in eternity. Why shouldn't they go after what they want with such easy prey everywhere. They really aren't different from hyenas or wild dogs, even though they look human. They should be shot the same way.

Bubba, no public office for

Bubba, no public office for me, please God, and I always would want to avoid shooting if at all possible. However, if there is ever an occasion when I am threatened or my family is threatened with harm, the gun IN MY HAND will come up spitting 9mm bullets. When I am in a vulnerable spot, like a parking lot, I don't carry concealed, I carry clearly visible. It sits on the seat in my car when I drive. At home, a semi-auto 6-shot 12g is within easy, highly-practiced reach, and we have a very fine, very protective dog. So far, nobody's felt like proving their manhood for me.

Fiat Lux I'm not being

Fiat Lux I'm not being sarcastic, I believe justice needs to take a harder stance at this problem.
Heck,I even believe in putting machine guns(50 cal) 200 yards apart at the Mexican border. When anyone crosses the border they should be shot on site. After your shot you should be placed in a caterpolt (16th century style) and hurled back into Mexico as a reminder that if you do not follow the law as to entering the U.S., this is your destiny.
As brutal and barbaric as this sounds you gotta remember who we're dealing with here. The Mexican govt. is really no friend of the U.S.. I truly believe that the Mexican govt. one of the most corrupt establishments in the world.Mexican officials are so deep into payoffs and favors to the drug dealers that Americans can't even begin to understand the depth.
In conclusion I do believe in the policy of shoot first, interrogate later.
Man isn't freedom of speech great!

Bub, I didn't think you were

Bub, I didn't think you were being sarcastic, and I wasn't either. However, it's clear that you spend a great deal more time thinking about these things than I do, especially when it comes to the now-reducing number of illegal aliens coming in across the Mexican border. Your imagery is very entertaining even if it is, as you say, brutal and barbaric. Human catapults always charm.

Bubba wants to shoot

Bubba wants to shoot Mexicans. Mexicans got NOTHING to do with this. It's the homegrown hoodlums who roam the streets, shooting and killing. Put a few of these blacks in the ground and it will stop.

I'd rather have a family of Mexicans living in my neighborhood that what we have. At least the Mexicans are polite and will work for a living. I think I will sponsor a family this week.
