A Hepzibah man arrested earlier this week in a Friday bank robbery is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center on a bond of $20,000.

Dannie Lee Gant, 46, was arrested Tuesday by Richmond County police and was extradicted to Aiken County on Thursday on a charge of entering a bank with the intent to steal/theft. His bond amount was set in a hearing this morning.

Police said they identified Mr. Gant through fingerprints and surveillance photos. The robbery occurred Friday morning at Regions Bank at 4385 Jefferson Davis Highway. A man provided a note demanding money and ran away after receiving cash.

About 40 years in prison

About 40 years in prison should take his mind off of other people's money. Too bad we can't put our politicians in jail for stealing by shoving a piece of paper at us.
