A Richmond County Sheriff’s Office employee was robbed early this morning by a man he was meeting to sell video games.

The 23-year-old said he met with the man at 250 Boy Scout Road in reference to selling his Xbox 360 and four games, a sheriff’s report said.

When he arrived to show the items, the robber pointed a handgun at him and stole them. The items were valued at $500.

True not all employees that

True not all employees that work for RCSD carry guns. Went to 401 to get a report for my insurance company, the young lady had a RCSD uniform but did not have a gun.

What a [filtered word], someone

What a [filtered word], someone already in a tight economy needs to sell some of his/her things and some lowlife steals from them rather than him getting a job and making his own money. I hope they find him and he resists arrest!

Right, I always sell

Right, I always sell merchandise to a total stranger in a parking lot. Especially when I work for the Sheriff's department and am surrounded by criminals and know all the ways crime occurs.

Advice for any sheriff

Advice for any sheriff department employee who needs to sell something to a complete stranger. Do the transaction on your own turf i.e., 401 Walton Way or the north or south precinct. It worked for me.

There are a lot of people who

There are a lot of people who meet through the I wanta and on craigs list to sell their merchandise on neutral territory because you don't want strangers knowing where you live. And even in a crowded parking lot where you feel you may be safe, a [filtered word] like this will still pull a gun on you. Don't blame the victim, blame the [filtered word] thief that doesn't deserve to live! It's sad people can't even conduct normal legitimate business without some scum, pulling something. If they had met at the persons home, the victim would be losing more than an xbox. People have even gotten robbed in a police parking lot, no place is safe from a [filtered word] who wants what he didn't earn!
