Gunman robs Cato

A gunman robbed the Cato clothing store in North Augusta on Monday night.

A 34-year-old employee of the store said the robber came to the register and pretended to be buying clothes for his wife at 8:32 p.m., according to a North Augusta Department of Public Safety report.

He pulled a handgun and told the clerk to give him the money in the register or he would kill her, the report said. The clerk put the money into a store bag and the robber left.
